The University of Tours supports its teacher-researchers, through the Partnership, Innovation and Valorisation Department (SPIV), to:

  • Identify innovative results that could be the subject of protection and technology transfer;
  • Protect the results by the means best suited to their nature and the envisaged method of exploitation, in particular by registering industrial property rights (patent, trademark, designs), implementing a secrecy strategy or registering digital creations (software, databases or applications) as evidence;
  • Define the technology transfer strategy best suited to the effective exploitation of research results, in particular through licensing to third parties or the creation of start-ups;
  • Support staff who have the desire to embark on an entrepreneurial adventure to make the most of their results, in the creation of start-ups.
