To get around, choose low-carbon mobility
When it comes to getting around, remember to walk, cycle or use any other environmentally-friendly means of transport. There are many benefits: less pollution, more physical activity, better physical health, improved quality of life, improved transport conditions and so on.
The various campuses in the University of Tours are accessible by tram, bus, bicycle, car, train, etc. When travelling, it's best to use soft mobility: public transport, cycling or car sharing.

Why switch to low-carbon mobility?
In 2021, the University of Tours received its first carbon report. Thanks to this, it was able to assess its main carbon emissions and start implementing appropriate solutions to reduce them. Unsurprisingly, travel is at the top of the list, accounting for 60.5% of all tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emitted by the university. Switching to low-carbon mobility, by favouring public transport (train, bus, tram) or pedestrian means of transport (walking, cycling, electric or non-electric scooters) wherever possible, means that we can all do our bit to reduce our carbon footprint. The aim of the website is to highlight all the facilities, transport options, digital tools and financial aids available to help you make the transition.
