Loire Valley Summer School 2026

From June 22 to July 10, 2026, take part in an ambitious summer program in France combining French language & culture with a choice of 2 academic tracks!

The University of Tours is organizing a brand-new educational and cultural summer program intended for international students. 
Called "Loire Valley Summer School 2026," this summer school will focus on learning French language and culture, combined with a choice of academic subjects:

      "French cinema and/in the world"                 "Sustainable & eco-responsible management"

  • Dates: July 22–10, 2026 (3 weeks)
  • Location: University of Tours, France
  • Course hours: 81 hours of in-person instruction
  • Target audience: International students with a B1 or B2 level of French (according to the CEFR)
  • Academic recognition: Certificate of participation upon completion of the program


Program content

Mornings Core curriculum : French Language & Culture (45h)
by the Centre Universitaire d’Enseignement du Français pour Etudiants Etrangers (C.U.E.F.E.E.)


Participate in dynamic French courses designed to strengthen oral and written communication for B1 and B2 learners. 
This program provides targeted, structured training to boost your skills in both comprehension and expression. 
Expand your vocabulary, sharpen your grammar, and gain confidence as you progress in real communication situations.
Afternoons Optional track 1: French cinema in/and the world (36h)
by the Faculty of Literature&Languages


Study French films whose plots establish connections between France and other countries and cultures around the world. 
Learn different film-making techniques based on a selected collection. Analyze film sequences whose themes propose encounters between France and other cultural scopes.

Optional track 2: Sustainable and eco-responsible management (36h)
by the University School of Management (IAE)


Study sustainable and eco-responsible management techniques through conferences, workshops and company visits. Explore topics such as: managing the societal & environmental transition, business models and sustainable value creation, sustainable reporting...
 

 


Cultural excursions

Discover majestic castles, stunning gardens and remarkable vineyards: one cultural excursion per week included. 
                    
Also on the agenda: 
  • A guided visit through the streets of Tours
  • The discovery of a vineyard 
  • A guided cheese tasting !


Registration Fees

  • Full program: classes and excursions : 2000€
  • Full program: classes and excursions + accommodation included (university residence) : 2400€


Accommodations

2 possible options for your stay in Tours : 
  • One of the pricing options includes accommodations. 
    You will be housed in a university residence located in Tours. 
    The accommodations are 10m² rooms with private bathrooms and access to a shared kitchen.
     
  • You can also choose to rent a studio in a private residence or through Airbnb.
    You will need to manage the booking yourself, but feel free to contact us for suggestions.

    Documents you will need to provide: 
    > a copy of your passport
    > any document indicating your French language proficiency (official test or a certificate written by a French teacher at your university).

     
  2. We review your application. Processing and group selection early May.
  3. Complete your registration and pay your fees via bank transfer by June 1st 2026.
  4. Receive an email with final enrollment registration, arrival details and paid invoice.
