Finding accommodation

It is your responsibility to find accommodation; various options exist, depending on your budget and the length of your stay.
  • University residence halls

Ten university residence halls are located throughout town; they are managed by the CROUS d’Orléans-Tours (Centre Régional des OEuvres Universitaires et Scolaires), which is an organization that helps students with accommodation, catering, scholarships, welfare, and so on). Different types of apartments are available in the university residence halls: furnished rooms, studio apartments, one-room, two-room or three-room apartments.

- Admission requirements and process

- Rent

The monthly rent depends on the type of accommodation: the amount is indicated in the online description of each university residence hall (see above). You will also have to pay a deposit usually amounting to a month’s rent.

- Furnished room: shared kitchen and private bathroom

- Studio apartment: kitchenette and private bathroom

- Apartment: kitchenette and private bathroom

Each apartment is equipped at least with one single bed (mattress included), a desk and a chair, a shelf, and a cupboard or a wardrobe.

SERVICES OFFERED TO STUDENTS: laundromats, cleaning gear, computer rooms with Internet access, working rooms and TV rooms.

TRANSPORT: all residence halls are served by the bus service of the town of Tours, Fil Bleu.


  • Private rental


You are a future international student at the university of Tours, use the housing platform on which you will be able to:
- Find a rental close to the campus
- Find your international or French roommate(s) and form shared rentals
- Find a subletting
- Find a room in a French family (ideal for the experience).

Thousands of accommodations from private owners, halls of residence, real estate agencies, or rooms in private homes, are available close to the university.

  • Temporary accommodation

Maybe you prefer to wait until you arrive to find accommodation in Tours: then several temporary accommodation options are available.

- A youth hostel

Located in the heart of Tours, it is open all year round; opening hours are the following: from 8:00 to 12:00 and 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. For more information, please click here.
