Pre registrations for the second semester of the academic year 2017-2018  are now open!

The deadline will be set to november 24th 2017.

The registration procedure at François Rabelais University is divided into 3 stages.

Stage 1: online pre-registration

You must register only on the Internet thanks to an online application form
Once you have been nominated by your university you just need to provide your personal information by filling in the online form. Then, you need to create an account , complete the file and print 2 copies of the PDF document you will get at the end.

If you do not have immediate access to a printer, you can save the PDF file and print it later.

N.B.: The 2 copies must be signed by the exchange co-ordinator in your home university. You must also sign them yourself, and then post them to Frédéric Soreau, your contact in Tours, including 1 passport-type photo.

N.B. non-European countries must conform to the CEF procedure.

If you want to come as an exchange student and if your country is among the list underneath, please follow this procedure on the portal "Etudes en France".
List of the countries that are concerned by this procedure:

The main events of the academic calendar should be as follows :

*** We advise you to arrive around january 08th 2018 so that you have enough time to register and to explore the city and the university.

Registrations will start from tuesday, january 09th 2017, at the International Relations Office.


• French Tuition for Exchange Students

Please note that students with level of French inferior to A2 or above C1 will not be able to register for French classes at the CUEFEE.

Stage 2: Accommodation

• Types of accommodation:
You can choose among several types of accommodation:

*Public housing:

- Residence halls (Forms gathered by our University (only for exchange students) and processed by the CROUS, please refer to the accommodation request form underneath)

*Private housing:

- Private accommodation: The University of Tours has now its own online platform to offer and find student accommodation (Private room, apartment, shared rental....).  Once you sign up, if you are not a student of the University of Tours yet, enter the following code: HOUSINGUNIVTOURS. (please note that the University does not intervene in your accommodation research)

- Private students residences (not managed by our University)

- Community centers (you can find some community centers that are not related to our university. Addresses and contacts can be sent to you by us).

• Booking accommodation:

You must fill in and print the form below (please complete it on the computer, save it and print it):

N.B : The accommodation request form must be sent in together with the signed registration forms. Failure to comply will lead to the form not being accepted.

No answer will be given to request forms sent in independently of the registration document.

Stage 3: Final Registration

On arrival in Tours, go to the International Office - 60, rue du Plat d’étain (Building A, ground floor)- to meet Frédéric SOREAU, the administrative coordinator.Please refer to this map.


He will provide you with documents containing the basic information you will need for a successful stay. He will also give you the form required for your final registration in the Faculty of your choice.

N.B: if you have not yet found accommodation on arriving in Tours, we advise you to book a room in a hotel for a few nights.
