Before leaving France

Please do not forget to:
  • Cancel all your contracts and subscriptions : electricity, gas, telephone, TV and internet (a letter by registered mail with a proof of delivery might be necessary for some operators)
  • Close your bank account: it is not always possible before departure (refunding of the safety deposit, last payments from CAF…). Ask your bank well in advance.
  • Inform the French administration of your change of address: insurance company and social security, bank, tax administration center (if you filled an income tax form in France), Caisse d’Allocations Familiales, etc. You can also inform "La Poste" and ask for a mail forwarding service during six months or one year.
