Every year, the François-Rabelais University has around 6% of foreign professors and researchers in its staff.
They may be welcomed as lecturers or as university professors. There are no nationality requirement conditions.
The University also receives guest professors, who are recruited temporarily to fulfil teaching or research assignments.
Language readers are also recruited for periods of one or two years. They should apply for openings that require their mother tongue; these are mainly teaching positions.
Researchers and teacher-researchers who come to France to work in publically-run higher education establishments must complete a certain number of administrative procedures before and during their stay. In particular, their residence permit must be valid for France.
