Engineering degree in Industrial Informatics - Training in apprenticeship in partnership with the ITII of the Region Centre

The apprenticeship training in Industrial Informatics trains an engineer who is capable of inventing, conceiving, managing and being in charge of all or part of a project in embedded systems, whatever its size, complexity or technicity, and, in all its dimensions, including an international one. He / she is a vocational scientist, but also a project manager destined to evolve rapidly as project director.
  • Objectives

The professional future of the students is to work in services linked to engineering, technical studies and advice, electronical and computer systems design, production, development, maintenance, tests, quality, safety, research and development, tertiairy education and public founded research. The main domains of activities are: industrial informatics, electronic and informatic materials, telecommunication (services), embedded software, research.

  • Contents or models of training

Choosing to be an apprentice corresponds to choosing a different training to acquire one’s professional qualification. During the three-year course, the apprentice is employed in a company and also follows a theoretical training in his/her school.

Rythm of the rotation:

- 3rd year : two weeks at the company and two weeks at school
- 4th year : two months at the company and two months at school
- 5th year : four months at school and seven months at the company


- Mathematics, modelisation, simulation, signal processing
- Computer Science: embedded software development, networks, languages, embedded systems and real time systems.
- Electronics: electronical functions, programmation and components, sensors, supervision and automatisms
- Project management: project management, embedded system specificities
- Options:

- Intelligent Transportation systems
- Intelligent Housing systems

Finally, other subjects including human, economical and social sciences as well as law and english complete the training course.

Project pedagogy is a crucial element of the training. The projects are also an initiation to research and innovation for the future engineers.

  • Admission requirements

A candidate’s application can be accepted after the three following stages:

1 - The application file (downloaded on Polytech Tours’ website) has been filled in and sent back before April, 13th 2012.
2 - After the examination of his/her file, an applicant can be selected for an interview at the end of May. The jury then indicates wheither the applicant is admissible or not.
3 - The enrolment in the training course is conditionned by the signature of an apprenticeship work contract between the applicant and a company (in September 2012).
