  • Objectives

The global objective of the diploma is to complete the initial formation of holders of a L2 level with specific skills necessary to the cosmetics industry businesses. It allows the holders to get operational in a cosmetics R&D department. An important place is made for teachings concerning innovative technical aspects, to allow the graduates to face the future evolutions of the business.

The first objective is to bring to the students a good knowledge of raw materials used in beauty care, so that they can envisage with difference the formulation of a product.

The second objective is to present to the students the various classic or innovative galenics, which they can be brought to realize in laboratory. The theoretical knowledge will be put into practice during practical classes and during a tutored project.

The third objective is to present to the students the various techniques of quality control of cosmetics, that they are analytical, biological or in vivo (trials of efficiency on volunteers), and that they address raw materials or finished products.

Finally, the last objective is to teach the students how to evolve in an industrial environment, by respecting the current rule and law, the steps of quality assurance and the good manufacturing practices.

Skills acquired during the formation: Choose the adapted raw materials, check their quality, know how to operate them to realize a cosmetic product. Control cosmetics by physico-chemical / biological techniques. Realize the trials of efficiency on volunteers.

The students can aspire to senior technician's post in cosmetics industry, in the sectors of the formulation, the production, the control or of the trials over volunteer of cosmetics.

The program integrates theoretical and practical teachings organized in credits grouped together in two half-years, learnings of methods and tools (S 5) as well as a tutored project and internship in occupational environment (S 6). The formation also proposes a teaching of foreign language and a n apprenticeship of the use of the computing tools.

The credits are sanctioned by a continuous assessment and\or written and oral terminal tests. In case of failure to the degree, they are capitalizable since the student obtained the average there. A compensation is made between constituent elements of a credit, on one hand, and between credits, on the other hand.
